First steps

Your hosting account is managed through your control panel: cPanel. Sign in to your cPanel by going to: www.yourdomain.com/cpanel (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name) and using the username and password that were sent to you by e-mail. On your first login, you will be asked to give an e-mail address off the server that can be used to contact you in case of problems with your account. You will also have the option of giving a secondary e-mail address to contact you in case there are problems with the first one. The other options let you receive warnings when your account is approaching its disk space or bandwidth limit (so we strongly recommend leaving these boxes ticked!). Once the changes are made, click Send to continue to the main page of the administration panel. [optional step] Once on the main page, you can change your password by clicking the "Change Password" icon. Please choose a secure password, containing letters and digits. It is each user's responsibility to protect their password well, and to change it regularly (at least once a year) in order to minimise the chances of intrusion. You can now continue configuring your hosting account by creating an e-mail address and transferring your files to your website. A window will open asking whether you want help getting started with your account; we recommend following the on-screen instructions to configure your account properly.
