How do I transfer a service from one client to another?

Updated on 3 November 2026

To change the owner of a hosting plan or a domain name: 1. The new owner must create a new client record with us, through the Client Area, Register link (it is free). 2. The former owner must open a support ticket through the Client Area > Technical Support, stating: 1. The domain name and/or hosting plan to transfer (be precise!) 2. The full name of the new owner and their e-mail address 3. Once you have received confirmation of the change, the new owner is encouraged to enter their details in the domain name's WHOIS record through the Client Area > My Domains > View details. If the current owner of the service can no longer be reached (death, move, dispute), and you are the legitimate administrative contact of the account, you will have to send us a signed fax with your service transfer request after creating a client record with us, as described in step 1 above. Please include with it a copy of a government-issued photo ID, as well as legitimate proof establishing you as the owner of the account (WHOIS record, company registration at provincial or federal level, primary contact details shown on the website, death certificate, etc.). Even if all supporting documents are provided, please allow up to 30 days for a service transfer without the explicit authorisation of the former owner. Atlas Hoster reserves the right to refuse any incomplete service transfer request.
