I do not receive e-mails from certain addresses. Why?

Updated on 3 November 2026

To minimise the impact of SPAM (also called junk mail), Atlas Hoster uses an anti-spam method called Sender Verify, which blocks more than 95% of the junk mail received.

Despite its positive effect, as with any other anti-spam method, legitimate messages are sometimes blocked.

If you notice that e-mails do not reach your inbox although you believe they really were sent to you, please open a support ticket with our team, stating clearly:

  • the sender's e-mail address
  • the receiving e-mail address
  • the approximate date and time of sending

One of our technicians can check the server's logs to confirm whether these e-mails were blocked.

If so, the site in question can be added to an allowlist to guarantee the proper delivery of every future e-mail coming from that mail server.

How do I turn this anti-spam protection on or off?

This protection is on by default, because it is built into the base configuration of our mail servers. It cannot be turned off.

I still receive spam occasionally. Why?

Although this approach limits the volume of spam, it cannot eliminate it completely.

For additional anti-spam measures, please turn on SpamAssassin in your cPanel.

How come I receive this sender's mail on my other e-mail accounts (Google, Hotmail, Vidéotron, etc.), but not on those hosted with you?

Each e-mail service provider uses its own anti-spam methods, so those used here may act differently from those used by other providers. It is therefore normal to see different results.

Why is this method used?

The Sender Verify approach is very widespread, and it is proven to prevent a large amount of spam from being received. It is very rare for legitimate e-mails to be blocked, and when it happens, the problem is caused by an incorrect configuration of the sender's mail server, which should be corrected by the administrator of the system in question.
