Addon domains and parked domains
Updated on 3 November 2026
An addon or parked domain can only be added to your account after it has been registered with a domain provider and after its DNS has been configured correctly.
You can order one from us through your Client Area.
An "addon domain" and a "parked domain" are domains attached to a main hosting account that has its own main domain.
There is, however, an important difference between these two types of domains.
A parked domain is an alias domain that lets you point one or more domain names to the same site. For example, you could add the parked domains yoursite.net, yoursite.biz and yoursite.org to your main account yoursite.com so that all these domains point to the same address.
With an addon domain, you can create a site entirely different from your main site. It will have its own files, FTP accounts and e-mail accounts, but it will share all the resources of your main hosting account (disk space, bandwidth, e-mail and database limits, etc.), and will also share the same administration interface (cPanel).
An addon domain is therefore ideal for any webmaster with several different sites who would like to manage all of them under one hosting account.
Contact our sales team if you want access to more addon domains on your account.
To add an addon domain or a parked domain to your account, click the corresponding button in your cPanel, section "Domains" (note that these buttons do not appear if your plan does not include these options).
Adding an addon or parked domain:
To create an addon domain, give a username with a secure password and enter the name of the directory where the new site's files will be placed in the field titled "Document Root home" (do not create this directory by hand, as cPanel creates it automatically). You can also leave this field empty to use the default directory (recommended). cPanel then generates an FTP access for this addon domain as well as the desired directory (take careful note of this information in the script's confirmation message).
