How to merge two separate accounts into one account with an addon domain
Updated on 3 November 2026
The procedure for moving an independent hosting account onto an existing hosting account, as an additional site (also called an addon domain), can be fairly complex and is not recommended for beginners.
To order this service, please get in touch with us.
Procedure for moving to an additional site (or addon domain):
- On the main domain, create a directory under public_html (example: public_html/otherdomain.com/)
- Transfer the data of the secondary account's public_html directory into the directory created in step 1, by FTP
- If needed, recreate your secondary account's databases on your primary account and transfer the data
- Make a full backup of your secondary account and save it on your local computer in case of a problem. Statistics and your e-mails will not be transferred, so copy them to a safe place if needed. If you use web software, you will also have to adjust its configuration settings where necessary.
- Place an order for the Additional Site from the Client Area, section My Products/Services (under Available Extras)
- Once the order is confirmed and the option activated, open a support ticket with our team asking us to delete your secondary account. ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE LOST AND YOUR SITE WILL BE UNREACHABLE FOR SEVERAL HOURS!
- Once the deletion is confirmed, sign in to the cPanel of your primary account and activate the Addon Domain option, giving the same root directory as the one created in step 1.
- Recreate the secondary domain's e-mail accounts on your primary account
- Allow up to 24 hours for the domain's DNS to propagate across the Internet, then confirm that your site works properly
