How do I forward an e-mail address?
Updated on 3 November 2026
What is an e-mail forwarder? Forwarders let you send a copy of all mail from one e-mail address to another address.
For example, if you have two different accounts, email1@domain.com and email2@domain.com, you could forward everything sent to email1@domain.com to email2@domain.com so that you do not have to check both accounts.
Please note that mail sent to an e-mail address with a forwarder is still received at the original e-mail address, in addition to being forwarded to the new address.
If you do not want to receive e-mails at the original e-mail address, simply do not create the original e-mail account and create only the e-mail forwarder.
How do I set up an e-mail forwarder?
- Sign in to cPanel
- In the E-mail Management Tools section, click Aliases and Forwarders
- In the Email Account Forwarders section, click Add Forwarder
- In the Address to Forward field, enter the e-mail address whose mail will be forwarded
- In the Destination section, tick Forward to email address and enter the final e-mail address in that field
- Click the Add Forwarder button
These configuration pages can also be used to return an error message to the sender, to send the mail to a program (which can handle your e-mails, for example) or to delete the message permanently.
