How do I set up Outlook, Outlook Express or Apple Mail with my e-mail account?
Updated on 3 November 2026
You can use your e-mail accounts at Atlas Hoster with mail programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or Apple Mail.
Although each program is different, they all offer a fairly similar interface for managing your e-mail accounts (it is normally found in the "Tools > E-mail accounts" or "Settings" menu of the program in question).
Using this account management interface, you will need to change the following settings:
- POP3 server (incoming mail server): mail.[yourdomain.com] (replace [yourdomain.com] with your domain name)
- SMTP server (outgoing mail server): mail.[yourdomain.com] (replace [yourdomain.com] with your domain name)
- SMTP port (outgoing server port): 25 o Note: this setting is often found in the "Advanced" tab of your mail program's configuration screen. The default value is usually 25.
- Username or login ID: you@yourdomain.com (replace with your full e-mail address)
o Note:
- do not confuse it with your main username for cPanel.
- You must give your full e-mail address.
- Password: the password you chose in the cPanel interface when the e-mail account was created.
o Note:
- do not confuse it with your main password for cPanel.
- You must give the password chosen when the e-mail account in question was created.
Note: it is important to test sending and receiving e-mails from your new account in order to catch any configuration error. If you have problems with your e-mail accounts and cannot send or receive e-mails, please contact us through your Client Area.
